Carried Away
A large crane at the southeast corner of Olin Library recently removed a 2,200-pound limestone panel from the exterior of the sixth floor as part of Cornell’s investigation to determine how the library’s facade can be rebuilt.
Olin Library will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2011. Like many buildings of that vintage, it is due for an extensive renovation. Planning and design for a multiphase renovation – anticipated to begin in June 2009 – is under way. The Olin Renovation Committee seeks input from users via focus groups and meetings.
