Slope Day Information

This coming Friday, May 2, is Slope Day. Olin and Kroch Libraries will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Uris Library will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

At 12:30 p.m., the front doors to Olin and Uris will be locked. Access for everyone -- including those with card access -- will only be through the Stimson entrance of Kroch Library until closing. This entrance is opposite Goldwin Smith Hall near the skylights. Staff will be available to provide directions to all three libraries. They will also check ALL bags upon exiting. This is important for the security of our collections, for there are no security gates at the Stimson entrance. In case of an emergency in Olin or Uris, staff would immediately unlock the front doors.  You should also be aware that there will be no access across Ho Plaza without a Cornell ID after approximately 10:30 a.m. because of the fencing which is being used to control access to the event. Using an alternate route is suggested.

Although we recognize that these measures will cause some inconvenience for staff and the public, we believe from past experience that Slope Day necessitates extra precautions in order to maintain library services while providing an appropriate level of security. Please note that the Libe Cafe will close at 11:30 a.m.
