Law Library Hosts Visitors
Recently, Cornell’s Law Library hosted the visit of Ms. Ayodeji Fadugba, Chief, Information and Evidence Support Section, United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, Arusha, Tanzania. Ms. Fadugba consulted on how to organize the print and digital archives of the genocide trials conducted for the first time by an international tribunal. More than 800,000 innocent people lost their lives in this genocide. The Rwanda archives consists of court records, attorneys' files, witness statements, and other materials, in print, electronic and audio-visual formats.
The Law Library was honored to play an assisting role in this important international human rights project, the goal of which is to protect and preserve the evidence to make sure that it is not destroyed or disappears. The project is of great current and historical significance, and will be a resource for researchers and other tribunals for a long time to come.
